Lodging
We offer a variety of lodging options depending on your needs, occupancy, and availability. Lodging is included with all hunts and is available for overnight stays during the off-season.
**Lodging is included with all hunts and does not need to be booked separately.
Our lodging options are located on a large, six-generation, family-owned, working cattle ranch in northeastern New Mexico. Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and travel back in time to our secluded getaway, which offers spectacular views. We are located in Trinchera Pass, part of the historic Goodnight-Loving Trail (north of Folsom, NM, and south of the tiny town of Trinchera, CO). Our fully appointed lodging options combine modern amenities with rustic charm, making them ready to host your family, friends, and horses (if you choose) for a relaxing retreat.
There are frequent sightings of elk, deer, wild turkey, and even the occasional black bear, cougar, and bobcat. You’ll enjoy the peaceful setting and the unobstructed view of the stars. The nearest towns with services, Raton, NM, and Trinidad, CO, are both about a one-hour drive away. You’ll be away from it all but close enough to make easy day trips to the Folsom Museum (17 miles), Capulin National Monument (24 miles), Sugarite Canyon State Park (35 miles), or Trinidad Lake State Park (47 miles). Please be sure to pack everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay.
Our location is remote and accessible only by dirt roads. We are located near the area known as the “Raton Ridge”, and our elevation is 6,500 feet. Make sure to bring your hiking shoes and warm clothes. During the winter and rainy seasons, a 4-wheel drive is a must.
*NOTE: Occasionally, the county-maintained dirt roads may become impassible due to snow or mud. If we determine they are unsafe, we will contact you and refund your deposit in full.
